Q: What size plane do you make retracts for?
A: We do not make retracts we offer conversion of your air or mechanical retract to electric scale operating retracts. Miniature through giant scale, contact the factory with any questions about your specific model. To date we have not found retracts that we cannot retrofit. The actual limiting factor is room in your existing retract and wing for a servo motor that measures .650” diameter OD x 2-1/32” long, with a #8-32 jack screw sticking out of one end. Smaller versions are available for miniature projects. If you have a special project contact us, we consider it an opportunity to display our inventiveness and creativity.
Q: How big of a gear can your system lift?
A: Through giant scale, contact the factory with any questions about your specific model.
Q: What is the speed of actuation?
A: Complicated question to answer. The short answer, we can deliver speeds from approximately 6 seconds to 20 seconds. Top speed is influenced by several factors: The designed lifting ratio of the retract, battery voltage, weight of your strut and tire, length of your landing gear strut, stager values and custom speed request.
Q: What kind of battery can I use?
A: Our system works best between 6.5V to 6.8Vdc, regulated (NICD, NIMH, LIPO). If you wish to use any voltage other than 6.5V to 6.8Vdc please discuss with the factory before conversion.
Q: How much power do these things use?
A: The quick and short answer is not much. Our customers typically do not see a change in their charge/use habits. The long answer; Given a 20 minute flight window from the time you power the retract system to the time you turn it off and one up and down cycle you will use approximately 7mAh of your battery. So for a 2200mAh battery (2200/7 = 314) flights before the retracts use your battery up. Not knowing how much power your receiver, flight surfaces, ignition systems, or other stuff requires, we recommend you stay with your current charge/flight schedule. Ensure your power system is in good working order, loose connections, coiled extension wire, weak batteries, pinched wires, conductors showing, and other power system flaws can lead to failures. Discuss your electrical system with the factory prior to use. Check your system prior to flight.
Q: What is your turnaround time?
A: We will be shipping your gear back to you approximately 3 weeks after received.
Q: What is your warranty?
A: Simply put if you have a problem with materials or workmanship within the first two years, call and arrange for shipping and we will repair or replace at no charge to you.
